I just had some sort of glitch in bridge. It now won't display my raw files AND it changed my file types. I am a Nikon user and my files always load as NEF now the file sin bridge show as DNG. When I go to try to open them I can't my system won't send them to photoshop and when I go to try to drag them into photoshop it says no that it is the wrong files type. Can someone please help!!!!!
Sounds like something happened to your copy of Adobe Camera Raw. Open up your ACC application (On the Mac it'll be in the menu bar, not sure on a PC (sorry)), look for that and install it. If it shows that it is installed, un-install it and then reinstall it.
As far as the DNG format goes, this is a format that Adobe created to solve a bunch of issues with camera companies having proprietary formats for their raw images. You can convert most raw formats to DNG but you cannot reverse the change

As far as the DNG format goes, this is a format that Adobe created to solve a bunch of issues with camera companies having proprietary formats for their raw images. You can convert most raw formats to DNG but you cannot reverse the change. Here's more information about them:

At some point there was something set that you apparently were not aware or inadvertently set that caused this to happen. FWIW, I change ALL of my raw images to the DNG format, I like it.
As far as the images not showing up in the thumbnails AND that PS cannot open the images, this is the clue that says to me that there's something wrong with your copy of ACR. You CANNOT open any kind of raw file directly into PS. Rather the raw format must be interpreted into a digital format that PS can understand. Normally when you try to open a raw image into PS, it first goes into ACR (where you can make an astonishingly large amount of adjustments) and then open into PS (if needed).
Let me know what you find.
