Bridge tif thumbnails will not display

Explorer ,
Aug 21, 2023 Aug 21, 2023

Suddenly most tiffs will not display. Jpegs display fine.

Things I have tried:

Tried keystroke preference reset, Command Option Shift, chose reset preferences and purge local cache.

Set "do not process files larger than" to 80000 MB

Updated everything, Mac OS Ventura 13.5.1

Multiple uninstall purgiung preferences, restarts and view>refresh,

Tried going back to several previous version of Bridge.

Is there a file in the preferences folder I can toss?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

The Bridge support team kindly helped me with this via a screenshare. The issue for me seemed to be a Camera Raw preference file. To fix it we did this:

1. Close bridge

2. (on Mac) Navigate to /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences

3. find the file called "Adobe Camera Raw 15.0 Prefs"

4. Delete file (or rename it something like "Adobe Camera Raw 15.0 Prefs_BACKUP")

5. Open bridge - it should then re-build that preference file.

I am also having the same problem with my work computer.

I'm working on a iMAC 2019 OS Monterey.

It just started yesterday and no other co workers that use Bridge have this issue.

The only thing Adobe support could tell me about the issue was this: "This is indeed a known issue and our engineering team is already working on a fix. However, at the moment it looks like it won't be ready until the upcoming version 14 of Bridge. This will be released in the fall (we don't have an exact date yet)."

After about a week without TIFFs in Bridge, this morning the TIFF display suddenly worked again as if nothing had happened.

And just at that moment I received this message from Adobe support: "Our engineering team has told me that this will be fixed in the next two weeks with a new update for Bridge 13. Please install it as soon as it is available. The problem should no longer occur with it."

Hi @Markus31571078xovq ,

Thanks for sharing your concern. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We are currently working with our partner team (Adobe Camera Raw) for the fix of this issue. There will be an update soon to fix this. Meanwhile, you can try the below workaround to resolve the issue :

  1. Quit Bridge & Photoshop (if open)
  2. Delete the ACR 15.0 preferences by deleting the file at the below locations
    1. Mac: /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe Camera Raw 15.0 Prefs
    2. Win: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Camera Raw\15.0
  3. Relaunch Bridge

Please confirm if above steps resolve the issue at your end.

We appreciate your patience and hope this solution resolves the issue for you.

Regards,

Bridge team

Hello @josho75611867 ,

Thanks for helping the community and sharing the workaround related to preferences with other affected users.

We appreciate your patience, time and support.

Meanwhile, the fix is also available with ACR update 15.5.1. We would recommend you to try it.

Regards,

Varun
