Can't Batch Rename JPG files using Date Taken

When I save files as JPG's so I can use or post them in other media formats (e.g. ProShow, Facebook), the date created is filled in using the date when the SAVE happened.  When I want to rename them in Bridge Batch Rename, I don't have the option of using the Date Taken instead of Date Created.  Since I'm trying to merge photos taken by my husband and myself (the whole point of the batch rename), I need Date Taken.

Hi there,

Could you try resetting the preferences of Bridge and let us know if it helps? https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/troubleshoot-errors-freezes-bridge.html

It's working for me, so this does indeed sound like a preference reset issue as suggested by Sahil:

I rename mine by Date Taken in Bridge, when the rename function works that is.  Go up to the menu bar and select View>Sort>Date Taken in ascending order.  Make sure you wait for the abysmally slow bridge to finish sorting before you go on to Batch Rename.  If you don't, it will rename them out of order or not at all.  It still has a bug where it can't rename high-speed bursts in the correct order, but they'll be in the same neighbourhood at least.  You'll need to make sure your husband's camera and yours are time synched too to get them in the correct order.  Good luck with that.

rc224253408usg, did you ever find the answer? It seems the replies you did receive were not related.

I am having the same issue and cannot find an answer. Thanks!

I believe that my reply was relevant. The date created is the date taken/shot.
