Corrupted Bridge and keywords

My Bridge was corrupted a while back and I had to make new keywords...what is has been doing is when I keyword something it seems to be bringing the old keywording in at the bottom. That is keeping my new keyword list from working properly...not all I keyword are showing.  I had uninstalled and reinstalled but it always brings back the keywords and then I have the same problem all over again. Can't seem to import without the keywording.

If there a way to to find the old corrupted keywords and delete. Even if I delete all my new keywording and start over the old will start showing up (they are in italics at the bottom) It's very annoying.

That's not quite true. Adobe shows all keywords present in an image's metadata. I'm collating images from numerous sources - each of which have their own keywording systems. So I've not entered all these keywords as you suggest - most are already embedded in the files metadata.

Adobe should give us the option to only show keywords that a user created for a specific project and not show the the thousands of others keyword that might be present in thousands of files. I don't care if other historic keywords are attached to that file - I just want to see the keywords I am choosing to use.

That's kinda Adobe's job to figure out how to provide that versatility and functionality... because as of right now it's ludicrous to not be able to build and view tailored keyword lists for specific projects.

You could write a script that would only list your keywords. Adobe doesn't have any sort of "keyword sets" feature and I wouldn't hold your breath that it will be added.

Just ignore the italicized keywords.

What you are seeing are keywords that are already in your files. This has nothing to do with the keywords list, if you looked at those files on another computer, you would see the keywords there as well. Until you remove those keywords from all of your files, they will keep showing up.

I wish there was another way...I have thousands of elements to delete...but guess I'll have to a bit at a time.  One would think we could reinstall bridge without keywords coming in.

Bridge has nothing to do with this. These are keywords IN YOUR FILES. They would be in the files if Bridge wasn't installed.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

From the description, it seems you do not want  the keywords which is italic and checked (in the screenshot) named "old keywords" to be appeared in your list of keywords. Also, it seems you have a file selected because of which this italic keyword start showing in the list. If that is correct then simply select the file and uncheck this keyword and then delete it from your keywords list.

Please note - whenever you select any file, system find the associate keywords. If the found keyword is present in your keyworrds list, then it will simply check it, else it will add that keyword in italic as a subkeyword of Other Keywords and  check it. You have to visit each and  every file and follow the process of unchecking the unwanted keywords to stop them appearing in your list. Also, you can export your current list and then import it instead of recreating it  repeatedly manually. While exporting a list, italic keywords are ignored.

Thanks,

Bridge Team

Mine just isn't working still. I have started from scratch and made new keywords (unchecking in preferences). Every time I add a new keyword or subkeyword at the bottom comes up italizied keywords with the same thing. I can delete, check and more just comes up.

In your example, do you want the keywords in italics to be saved in the image or are you trying to delete them and replace with new keywords? for example, do you want to keep both "Hello Autum" and "Hello Fall"?

@Rahul Saraogi is saying that the keywords in italics are showing in the list because they are in the image(s) you have selected. Those keywords might not be in your clean keywords list, but if they are previously saved in the image(s), they will be displayed (italicized) in the list. To never see them again you have to delete them from all the files. You can filter on an unwanted keyword, select all of those files and then uncheck the work in the list.
