Does Bridge do checksum verification when bringing in files

Bridge is the greatest for importing and organizing files, but I was wondering if it verifies the files via checksum or other process? Or does it just bring in images and videos blindly.

Bridge is a file browser, it doesn't import anything. What would you propose the checksum be verified against?
