Hi @SantaClassics

Thanks for reaching out.

Will they open in an image editor or viewer? What operating system are you using?

How large are they?

If you mean thumbnails, check the size of your .tif files against the max you have set in your Bridge preferences for thumbnail building. You may need to increase this limit.

We're here to help, just need some info.

Best,

Ranjisha

I am runing Mac OS 12.6. The .tif files open in photoshop when I use File>Open or drag the file over the PS desktop icon. Their size varies but none larger than 100mg. I have "do not process files larger than" set to 2000mg.

This problem only occurs with .tif files, my psd and jpeg files open when I double click the humbnail.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Thanks for the info. Did you try re-installing the application?

I have followed all your suggestions. I have reinstalled Bridge but still cannot open a TIFF or Raw file by double clicking the thumbnail. I have to open them through PS. I can open a psd or jpg file by double clicking the thumbnail.

Thanks for the info. Please go to Camera Raw preferences, then File Handling. Please check the Tif option from there.
In Bridge, go to Edit Preferences > filetype association in Bridge and let us know which software is selected for Tif files.

Please go to Camera Raw preferences, then File Handling. Please check the Tif option from there: The TIFF option was "Automatically open TIFFS with settings", I changed it to "Automatically open all supported TIFFS" to see if that would make a difference. That did not solve the problem.
In Bridge, go to Edit Preferences > filetype association in Bridge and let us know which software is selected for Tif files: In Bridge preferences "edit preferences" is not available (see below), I looked in advanced which was suggested by a Google search, but found nothing that related to your suggestion.

When I opened my next TIFF file through PS open, it openned in Camera Raw, so I returned the Camera Raw setting to "Automatically open TIFFS with settings" to recover from that mistake.

If you mean control click on a file in Bridge, the drop down does not include Tif. It is mostly apps and plugins. If you mean click on the finder icon, it is not on my doc and never has been. Your response is vague. It tells me to go to “File Type Associates but does not tell me how to get there or what to do when I get there.

I did find the Finder on my doc. I never used it before. When I opened it the folders (see photo) appeared. I opened all folders inside all these folders and found no "File Type Associates" inside
