I've searched for hours for a remedy to my problem with this.

Just opening photos in bride or even photoshop to batch process Raw images to jpegs, no adjustments, all i'm doing is trying to resize.

In Bridge, the file preview won't load fully, and lets say maybe 50-100 images from a 700 image session just don't load. I used two cards and shot redundant, ssme issue on both brand new formatted before session cards.

Can't open the raw file in paint, can't change the extension, just can't do anything. And my client looking for photos from a particular part of our session is getting antsy.

Attached is a few of of about 100 straight that won't work.

Hopefully I can find some help.

Camera is a Sony A7IV

Also somethings to add, I've already tried uninstallling and reinstalling Photoshop and Photoshop Beta and they are both updated.

Images are shown perfectly on my camera as well.

Apparently here are "Permissions" problems with these files but I have found a solution if you are on a Mac.

The files will open with Preview.

In Preview, Save the files as TIFFs. Bridge, Camera Raw  and Photoshop can then open them.

Did you copy these to your hard drive? Don't work directly off the memory card.

Although I've been working converting them from the memory card in the past for the last year I've used this camera, these I didn't.

Transferred to a hard drive first and then tried and this is the result.

These 2 are also brand new cards that I used for 2 sessions this past saturday.

I first noticed this happened about 2 weeks ago with a short wedding and 2 other prom shoots, the prom shoots were missing files, luckily and strangley the wedding wasn't.

I also saw an indication that the files were "Locked".

You may have set them to Lock in the camera and you are probably the only one who has permission to unlock them?

I don't know Sony cameras but in Nikons the owner can lock and unlock images in the camera.

Bump, if possible.

I found a semi resolution by opening the files in Sony Imaging Edge, but the editing prowess is so much less than Camera Raw or Lightroom so the problem is band-aided, but not solved.

Hey ACPHOGFX. Welcome to the Bridge Community. I'll help you figure this out.

To help you, we would like to have a few details. What version of Bridge and operating system are you using? What is the image size and resolution?

Try these few steps and check if this resolves the issue:

1. Go to File > Save. If you placed a wrong extension on a file, Preview will correct it.

2. Instead of double-clicking the file in Bridge to open in Camera Raw, right-click on the image in Bridge, go to the "Open With" option, and click Photoshop. It will still open in Camera Raw, edit as usual, and open in Photoshop.

3. Check for the image size and resolution. Try to change it to a lower resolution and save it.

Let me know if this helps,

Thanks!

Shivani
