Question

.heic thumbnails not showing?

Hi all,

how can I get .heic thumbnails to show in Bridge? See attached.

Windows 11

Adobe Bridge Version: 12.0.1.246

I have the "HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer" installed and I can view the files in File Explorer and Photos.

Anyone knows how to get the thumbnails to work in Bridge?

Thanks.

Hi,

We are happy to announce the release of new Adobe Bridge 2025 Beta build(Version 15.0.0.328). This release has support for .HEIC and .HEIF image file format with some other fixes.

We would love for you to try it out and share feedback. For more details, please refer to the community post : https://community.adobe.com/t5/bridge-discussions/adobe-bridge-beta-is-now-available-15-0/td-p/14822...

Regards,
Bridge Team

Can someone explain why some thumbnails show up and others show LR place holders.

Thank you but your links talk about "Lightroom Classic, Lightroom and Camera Raw" and not Bridge.

Also I already have the "HEIF Image Extensions" (forgot to mention that in my OP) and "HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer".

The "HEVC Video Extensions" appears to only be for videos, I am talking about photos with the .heic extension.

Any other ideas on how to get this working?

If you use some Google-fu, you'll find out why you should get the other codec. Apparently. I'm a Mac user so these files work for me natively.
