How can I backup the keywords associated with the images?

New Here ,

Assigning keywords to images is a tedious task. I back up the images regularly so I'm not worried about losing them.
How can I make a backup of the keywords associated with each image so that I don't have to do this job again in the case of restoring my computer?

Thanks in advance.

Those are storeďdirectly in the file. If you back up your images, the metadata is backed up.

I am talking about the keywords associate with each individual image file.--

As the keywords are saved to the files and you mentioned that you already backup your files, you are all good at the file level.

If you are not backing up your Bridge keywords panel regularly by exporting it when new keywords are added to the panel for use, then you should probably do so as this is tedious to rebuild if lost, as then you will have a whole heap of "non-persistent" keywords displayed for each new fi

Are you talking about backing up the list in the keyword panel?

As @gregreser asked, these are two separate but related questions.

Keywords are written directly to image files, and they can also be stored in the Keywords panel 'database' (an XML file).

To backup or restore the Keywords panel, use the Keywords panel menu to export or import the keywords text file:

If you don't have an exported copy of the Keywords panel content, the keywords can be extracted from your image files (using a script or ExifTool) or possibly be restored or reworked in a copy of the underlying XML file where the keywords are stored.
