How can I make the Recycle bin the default place for deleted items in Bridge Cs5?

I know it can happen, as when I recently did a system restore, and after I reinstalled cs6, all deleted files went to my Recycle Bin – I could clearly see them and restore them if I wished. But then after a few weeks, it changed to now delete mysteriously completely, but there must be a way of restoring, as I can still see the file in File>Open Recent (when I click desired file nothing happens)

(I would also like to know how I can restored my deleted movie file that I spent hours editing allready?)

Hi OldAdobeUser,

Please go the recycle bin properties and check if Don't move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted is select or not. Please select Custom Size and click on OK.

Are your files saved on your computer or on an external drive?

I suspect that may have something to do with the problem. But I only have my PC Tower, I do not have any other drives / usb’s connected to it, and I do use a local account now on Windows 10.

Try one thing copy 1 image to your PC on local drive C, then browse in bridge and delete that image through bridge and check if it lands in the recycle bin or not.

Let us know about the outcome.

Try doing this once :-

1. Click Start, type msconfig in the start search box, and then press Enter.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

2. Click the Tools tab.

3. Click Disable UAC and then click Launch.

4. A command window appears, and shortly thereafter, a notification bubble appears informing you that UAC is disabled.

5. Click Ok and restart your computer to apply the change.

The UAC setting is the Notification alert of when changes are made to my system. So this is not going to change Bridge in any way?

Doing this will allow you to delete items from your Local Drive C and you won't get the unexpected error again.
