I use two computers: one automatically creates .Bridgesort files and the other does not.  I like to have them as I need to save my sorts: is there a setting that I can change?

You can't. Bridge creates those if you have a custom sort in a folder.

That's what's puzzling me.  I have custom-sorted my folder, and yet no .BridgeSort file appears.  But if I do it on the other computer, it creates one.

I'm using Windows 10.  It's on an organisational shared drive, and, as I say, when accessing it from one computer it works just fine, but not from the other.

Most likely a permissions issue.

Thank you for taking the time to think about it.  I have realised that the "hidden items" box in File Explorer > View was unticked on one of my computers!
