I have not opened bridge (12.0.1.246) in weeks, and i dont remember what's going on.

Shouldn't I get a list under "SSD evo work drive 1TB"?  How do I see my contents?

Mac OS 12.1

At its basic level, Bridge is a browser: it shows you what's in the folder that is currently open. As opposed to Lightroom Classic, which can only show image-related files of a certain type, Bridge will show you folders, text/Word files, FileMaker files, along with image files of any kind. With some kind of image files, Bridge can display the contents of the files, but alas there are a number of limitations.

If you've selected an external hard drive as you show in your screenshot and no contents are displayed, it sounds like you've not yet given Bridge permission to see external hard drives, Desktop, and other locations. This is an Apple protection scheme, and not related to anything that Adobe does. To fix this:

Go to your System Preferences and select Security and Privacy (found in the top section). Now click on the Privacy setting (last tab). Now click on the lock on the bottom left and provide your Administrator code. Now select the Full Disk Access option and click on the "+" symbol. This will bring up the standard Mac Open window and let you add any application you want or need to have full access. Look for Bridge, select it, it will now appear in that window, and make sure it's checked. Next, go to the Files and Folders option and do the same thing as above (although there's nothing to check, just add. Close everything down and see if that makes it all work.

Please let me know

[Note: these images are from an older OS, the process is the same.]

I did that, thanks, altho Bridge prerelease was not there in "privacy", and prerelease didn't have those problems, altho now when I open regular Bridge, to check access, like in your notes, only Bridge prerelease opens.  Also, my +- thing a greyed you so i cant even add stuff.  How do you get stuff to show up onscreen?  On my page, it's a clik away in attachments?

The prerelease is a whole different animal. Delete it once the release version is installed.
