How to create a sub-collection?

Hi,

I just started with Bridge 2022 last week and I ran into a problem.

I rely heavily on collections and as a result I will have a long list of it.

Say I want to create a collections of all countries around the world then that would result in a long list and it would require lots of scrolling.

Ideally I would like to create sub-collections. Something like this:

Continent - Country - Province - City

Is that possible and how do I do that?

There is no such feature in Bridge.

I expected this to be possible as every other picture viewer software has
that feature.
That means that Bridge doesn't meet my expectations and I will have to
revert to something else. Most likely iMatch.

You could use keywords for filtering.

FWIW, I think of Bridge as more of a production tool and short-term organizer, not a long term cataloging solution.

Being able to pull in files from various locations for a specific design job would fall under production though. I expect this "half way there" approach to app feature sets from others, but not Adobe.

The original question was about "sub-collections" and I don't see how your comment applies?

Sorry about that. I meant that it would be nice to have sub-collections to be better organized. Sometimes I have to put in files in a collection from various locations and some files are the working files while others are reference. Sub-collections, like sub-folders, would reduce confusion on what is current/in-production and what is just reference. I have found a work-around by having a collection for production files and another collection with the same name but with "Ref" at the end for reference files. Bridge is a great program still, I just wish there were a way to create a collection hierarchy, even if only one level deep.

if you have a lot of photos... and if you work on shared space at your office, probably you own a synology solution (or alike)... so you can have acess i.e to such tools as Photos https://www.synology.com/en-us/dsm/feature/photos
