How to disable Bridge 2021 cache sharing

It is recommended not to share Bridge Cache in a single user environment.

I have searched "everywhere" but cannot find answer to the question:

How to avoid cache sharing?

I hope to be able to keep my 100% previews on a lokal SSD drive and keep them away from the drive where the original photos reside.

Thank You in advance

Just let Bridge generate cache. Don't export it to folders.

Tools->Cache->Manage Cache and from there delete the cache you don't want.

Thanks Lumigrahics for replying to my previous post!

I am sorry to be forced by the system to make a new post, but it is not possible to reply to yours...(?)

I will try to clarify my problem with reference to thr Bridge User Guide

https://helpx.adobe.com/be_en/bridge/user-guide.html/be_en/bridge/using/centrally-manage-bridge-cach...

Note:

The shared cache management feature is useful only when you work in a multi-user collaborative environment. If you are a sole user, shared cache is of no use and may lead to space issues.

It's recommended that you do not use the shared cache feature if you are a sole user. In this case, the cache generation and management work in the same way as it used to be in Bridge CC 2018.

----

I am a "sole user"  and I do not want to use shared Cache.

Edit/Preferences/Cache Management/Location points to a separate SSD drive where I want to keep my 100% previews.

100% Previews are generated through:

Tools/Cache/Cache Management --> Build and export cache for "Photo Folder"

           x   Build 100% Previews

The previews are saved to my SSD drive as intended but they are also saved in a subfolder (.BridgeSharedCache) to "Photo Folder".

My question is:

How to disable Shared Cache? - As recommended for sole users....

Could you maybe help me with the same problem?

I use Bridge 2022, and it automatically exports the cache. I use this menu: Tools / Cache / Manage Cache... / Build and export cache for folder "X" and all enclosed folders.

Is there an option to generate the cache WITHOUT exporting?

thank you,

Pal

Hello Pal,

I see no option.
My best advice is to export cache and delete
.BridgeSharedCache in the "Photo Folder" afterwards.

With updated HW and OS (Latest Intel Cpu/ Win 11) I do not see the problem with Bridge 2022. It seems as if GPU (same graphic card) now takes part in thumbnail and preview generation. I don`t know if it is the hardware update or an Adobe update that made the “miracle”.

Regards
Karsten
