I have a problem with the new version of Bridge

New Here ,
Sep 30, 2023 Sep 30, 2023

Bridge is unable to read files present on the desktop.

Older version 2022 did work fine and I kept it for some time but then it got cancelled. Future versons never worked as fine as the older version did: I used it as viewer and now it's usless.

To be honest, I started using bridge some time ago when it worked as a sort of easy lightroom. When things changed all my modifications on the files got lost. So I had to start using Lightroom, but lightroom isn't that good for slideshows, Bridge instead was BEFORE...

Is there a way to correct the current issue or retrive older version of Bridge?

Thanks for any help that con be goven

"Bridge is unable to read files present on the desktop"

I do not find this the case-  My Bridge v13.0.4.755 and 14.0.0.102 can show images in my Desktop folder without a problem.

"lightroom isn't that good for slideshows, Bridge instead was BEFORE..."

Agree.! Now both are less useful. Bridge now gives an annoying message "Loading High Qual...." as a low-res image pops into a high-res view of each image. Apparently when a SS is run once, it creates the high-res view in a cache available for the next run of SS, but a slide-show of the images on another system results in another "Loading High Qual...."  annoyance.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 14.5.1, Photoshop 26.10, ACR 17.5, Lightroom 8.5, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 15.1.1 .

This is not the problem with Bridge, it's an issue created by Apple.

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy.

In the Privacy tab, select Security.

Ensure that Lightroom Classic has permission assigned to Photos, Full Disk Access, and Files and Folders.
