Question

Importing preference settings of BRIDGE?

To change the file names, I have some adjustments, like:

  • Adding a sequence number before the name file with two digits.
  • Adding a sequence number before the name file with three digits.
  • Eliminating the original numbers at the begining and replacing with my customized numbering.
  • Eliminating all numbers that has nothing to do with the file name, unlessit is a song that says “12 inch”.
  • Eliminating all digits, except the “3” and the “4” if they are at the end, for mp3 and mp4 files.

So,  all these adjustments and more were saved like customized adjustments for file names. In Bridge 2022 I have to set up again all this. Is there a way, for the future, I can save these settings in the creative cloud (like the brushes in PSD or the keyboard shortcuts in Premiere for example). “Import Preferences from your older version”??? Something like that? Orientations, please.

@limakid2015

If these adjustments were done via the Tools > Batch Rename, and if they were saved as presets, then they may still be on disk as a .setting file.

Mac example (the user folder may be hidden):

/Users/your_user_name/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge 2022/Batch Rename Settings

Windows (the appData folder may be hidden):

C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge 2022\Batch Rename Settings

If not, after you remake them, you can copy the preset .setting files to wherever you wish and re-install them as necessary.

I checked the path, and there are the !!!Last.settings and other “.setting” that I saved last time I used Bridge, but nothing from the old presets. Anyway, I know already where are saved these files. Thank U.

OK, so there will be no need to remake them in the future if you save them to another backup location.

In my experience, settings usually copy from older versions to newer versions, so there is generally little need to manually update the new version with these assets.

I am not aware of a cloud sync. location.
