For a couple of weeks, while browsing the jpg files in a folder of mine, I'm noticing that some jpg files are no longer readable and can no longer be used with any software.
I verified that the problem is getting bigger and I also tried to move the folder to another hard drive because I assumed that the hard drive was faulty.
I tried to uninstall the new version and installed a version 13.1 that had not given me any problems.
I scanned my system and there are no viruses, I also performed a scan to correct the hard drive sectors.
Now I don't know what to do anymore.
Does this happen to anyone of you?

Sounds like a system problem. It might be time to have a technician look at your computer.

Thanks for the reply.
I also thought of some hardware problem but the problem only concerns the jpg files.
Maybe I made a mess by deleting the cache first partially and then deleting it completely.
Maybe the update to version 14 had some problem, I uninstalled and installed a previous version.
Now I have recovered the files from a backup and I am trying to monitor the functioning of the software.

Hi, @vit0c72708961; let's, please start from the foundation that Bridge, by itself, does not, nor can it, alter a file. Bridge is a looker, not a manipulator. Yes, you can open Adobe Camera Raw to alter how an image appears, but #1) that's Adobe Camera Raw, not Bridge, and #2) every alteration that ACR makes on any image is not permanent. Anyone can remove any adjustments at any time on an ACR-altered file. To say this in another way, no pixels can be changed by using ACR.
So, where does this leave us?
Everywhere and everything else.
@Lumigraphics has provided one possible lead, but since we do not know what type of system you are using, what OS you are running, which version of Bridge, ACR, and Photoshop you are using, where the files are located, etc., it's hard for us to make too many suggestions. So, please consider a wider range of possibilities for this issue.
To start, can you also share one of these JPG files showing issues?
Best,
