macOS Big Sur 11.6 and Bridge

Still having snags with everything on PS and Bridge with Big Sur. This time, Big Sur 11.6, seeing what is in a folder on Bridge 11.1.1.185 can take 15 minutes. No logic obvious just when clicking on a folder the screen is blank, until I waste time going to other apps then coming back to Bridge occassionally to see if the files are visible yet. Is it Bridge or Apple?

Where is the folder located? If I access a folder in dropbox and the files aren't local, it takes forever because the files download locally.

Hi Melissa, thank you. All my files are local, old fashioned perhaps. Apple have issued another OS very quickly since the last one. Hopefully that will resolve the snag for everyone, if not just me.

Hi Des,

It's both and neither. I'm using Big Sur and I've got the same Bridge as you. But I'm not having any of the problems that you are describing.

There is no doubt that Bridge has never been known as a speed demon. But also be aware that there are several things that cna be done to help speed things up.

The recommended settings are these (found on the top), the 2nd triangle from the left on the right hand side. See if you can match this, restart Bridge, and see what happens.

Oh, one other thing: if you're opening a folder with 10,000 images, try again. I'd say 350-400 images max is a good number. You can do more but you're bordering on pushing things at that point. Oh, if you're opening a folder you've opened before, probably a good idea to dump the previous cache for that folderm (start from scratch).

Let us know...

Thank you Gary. Yes on checking my settings are the same. But only experienced this particular snag with the latest apple 11.6. So will give it some time to settle and then perhaps reinstall the apple os. No doubt if there is a Bridge snag adobe will deal with it, eventually. As everyone will have it. Des.
