Meta data in full screen mode

New Here ,
Aug 29, 2021 Aug 29, 2021

Hi all,

I use Bridge for the first view of my raw files. I rate my files to continue in lightroom later.

Normally I love to work with the full screen, but I need the meta data like aperture, shutter speed and the ISO setting. Is it possible to show these datas in the full screen mode?

Thx and regards, Moritz

Hi Me,

No and yes. As far as the official full screen mode, no. All you can see is the image. That's it.

However, what you CAN do is to increase the size of your Bridge's window to fill your screen. The move your metadata window to the left or right side. In the screenshot below I also added the Content Panel so I could go to other images, and removed the other Panels as that's not what you want. When you've got this the way you want, Save the Workspace! I called mine Full Screen and Meta (how's that for a catchy titile???).

Good luck!

Hello, @ronaks64071727, I apologize, I've been very busy and will be busy all day today. I hope to provide you the information you need tomorrow (September 7). (I'm in California, so be aware of the timezone differences.)

Hello, @ronaks64071727,

Again I'm very sorry, but I've had way to many things interupting my life the past couple of days. I was hoping to make you a video, but the software I use to do that has been unresponsive. So, I will try and show you with screenshots to get you going.

If you start with the Essentials Workspace, you can move, remove, and resize everything on the screen.

You see the left section, center section and right section. Each of the Panels within each can be moved except the center panel. However, you can delete content from the left and right side sections to make the center section into the left or right selection. [If you remove everything from the left section, the center now becomes the left section.

When you mouse down onto a Panel and start to drag, it becomes purple. If you move that over to another section, it will also become purple and you can release the mouse. Because you want the  Preview on the left side, leave it alone and it will get there.

First, mouse down on the Preview panel and drag to the left

As you start to drag over the center section, it will turn purple. DO NOT STOP, KEEP DRAGGING TO THE LEFT

Finally, when you get over to the left side, make s ure you see a purple top and let go.

Now, when any Panel is active, you will see a "hamberger menu" to the right. If you click on that, you can close that Panel

Close all Panels you do not want to see.

Move the Content Panel below the Metadata Panel.

At this point, you're probably looking at what you want, but the window is way off to the left. If you put your cursor in between the two panels, you'll see a double-headed arrow. When ever you see that arrow, you can mouse-down and drag left or right.

At this point, you probably have what you're looking for.

But, you are not done yet!

The very first thing is to go up to the Essentials Workspace name, and Save it with a new Workspace name. Meanwhile, you can THEN, go to the same menu and see "Reset to Saved Layout."

All of the provided workspaces (Essentials, Filmstrip, etc.) cannot be saved into a new look with the original name. However, any of them can be changed and saved with a new name. Plus, let's say you decide you want Keywords next to Metadata. All you have to do is to go to the Window menu, and select Keywords. This will appear in one of the sections. Then, you grab it with your mouse and drag it to where you want it to be.

Now, if you look two images above, you'll see in the same menu that gives you the option to save this workspace as a new one? Note the grayed out text; if you made a change to one of your saved workspaces, you can save that with "Save Changes to this Workspace."

And this also leads me to let you know that if you inadvertently remove one of the Panels you want, simply, repeat the last step I showed above and place it where you want.

I sure hope this helps you get the workspace you want. And more importantly, get ANY workspace you want.

Again sorry for the delays, I needed a block of time to do this.
