.mov .mp4 thumbnails not showing in 2019

Hey,

Title says it all.  Movie file thumbnails from iPhone and iPhone apps are not appearing in Bridge 2019.  I went back and tried 2018, and there they were.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Could you try the steps below and let us know if it helps?

Launch Bridge -> open Preferences Dialog -> Advanced Tab -> Turn on "Use Software Rendering" -> Restart Bridge -> Now purge cache for above shown files.

Regards,

Sahil

It is showing the thumbnails now without doing what you said, but now I've come back to this for a specific reason.

I was trying to transfer photos and movie files from my iphone to my Windows machine just with copy and paste.  I got to a point where it would give me an error that the device was unreachable.  So I tried the solution given here:"Device is unreachable" Error message whe… - Apple Community

It allowed me to go ahead and transfer the content, but the images are now in .heic format which I have to convert to .jpg, and the movie files, while they still are are .MOV files, are not showing a thumb.  They play ok though.

I tried the software thing and it didn't change the issue.

Any ideas?

I too have this issue... I've tried the above steps, as well as turning on Sotware Rendering.

I am using the latest release of Bridge (2020) running on a 2013 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro - macOS Mojave (10.14.6)

This is very frustrating as it has me looking to other software for something that should work as part of my Creative Cloud subscription.

All I needed to do was tick Generate "Monitor-Size Previews". I left "Use Software Rendering" unticked and that worked for me.
