Nikon Z8 Raw files Slow bridge

Im having an issue with nikon z8 raw files in bridge. To start with i have a pc that is practically as high a spec as possible.

when i open a folder in Bridge, it slows to a grinding halt. I dont have this issue with any other raw files from other cameras. Its unworkable. I feel like this must be an issue with Bridge.

Trying to sellect multiple images results in a lag of up to 20 seconds before something is selected.

03 Sept 2024 - has there been a fix issued for this? Ive a z9 that Bridge handles no problem (renaming files etc) - but it fails to do that with raw files from a Z8. (On a 2018 Macbook Pro)

Hi @dreww96331471
Could you please confirm the camera raw version on your machine.. and share the problem you are observing with Nikon Z8 files, as there have been few optimizations done in Camera Raw 16.5

Hi team - I'm on 16.5.0.1954  - When I connect my CFExpress card from the Z8 to "get photos from camera" - I see greyed out thumbnails and the files then dont ingest. At this point I'm looking to rename the files and back them up before editing in LR CC. Z9 - card works every time and my workflow works.

Thanks

Please answer this.

I am having the same issue. I just got a Nikon Z8 and Bridge is almost unusuable, It cosumes all of my memory resources and takes forever to load the thumbnails in a folder of images.

I also have the latest bridge, and a super fast computer.

When I click on a folder with my Nikon D850 images, there is no issue, they load perfectly fine and fast. it's only when going into a folder of Raw images from the Nikon Z8. Please fix
