I have the latest version of Bridge and, to my astonishment, Output is STILL missing. Didn't this get figured out three or four years ago? I still have to add it back? What is Adobe's problem here? I know they are a monopoly and don't really have to fix anything, but this is an egregious omission even in that context. Will it ever just be a part of Bridge again at some point? What am I missing?

I agree with you that Output workspace should be included in Bridge "out of the box" sort of. Any how, you still can add it manually by following the steps on the web page here.
