Question

Photoshop CS4 uninstall and reinstall (Bridge)

My version of Bridge is 3.0.0.464

I purchased Photoshop CS4 Extended (Student Edition) in 2009. and my (then) Mac was version 10.3. I have since upgraded the version to 10.13.6.

Bridge is now playing up so i would like to uninstall the Photoshop (complete) and reinstall it. I do have the Cd's plus the license key. I am no longer a student.

Can I safely uninstall both Photoshop and Bridge and reinstall it from the disks using the same license key?

Mac 10.13.6 is the highest version I can go as the later ones do not supprt Photoshop CS4.

Thanks

Maybe all Bridge CS4 needs is a preferences reset instead of a reinstall.

  1. Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears.

2. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

Thanks Jeff,

I didn't know about this feature, so thank you very much.

I have carried out what you have suggested and we'll see what happens next.

Very much appreciated

You can no longer activate CS4 components if you reinstall. I'd say its time to be looking at newer options.

Wow, OK, I would say "probably."

HOWEVER: I would back up your entire hard drive before you do that. You need to make sure that you are covered if it doesn't work.

Also, even though PS CS4 can work in 10.13, I'm not fully sure if the installer can work in 10.13. That's why I'm suggesting you back everything up.

Oh, use Time Machine because it's easier to replace your HD content from Time Machine.

Good luck!
