Hi, I'm running Adobe Bridge 2017 (and Photoshop 2015.5) and was unaware that the link to batch converting files in Photoshop is no longer there. Instead there's one single option to Process Collection in Photoshop. I wanted to convert and resize 2 TIFF images to JPG and mindlessly clicked on this option. A process then began automatically whereby 60 of my images started getting "processed" -- incidentally, I have no idea what kind of processing it was applying since no intervening screen came up asking me what I wanted to do -- with numbers being placed on the image thumbnails. It's only then that I realized that this thing doesn't work as before, and wondered where is the Photoshop option to do various different things, as before.
I quickly bailed out of there (by force-quitting, hope that wasn't a mistake) but now when I open Bridge, it's stuck on that process. It's showing various thumbnails with these strange numbers on them, and only a partial amount of the images in that file. I checked in Finder and all my original images are still there but Bridge isn't showing them while mired in this process.
So, several questions:
1. how to back out of this processing thing without damage to my files, how to get Bridge working normally again?
2. how to recover the former Photoshop processing capability? All my scripts are active, btw.
3. I have researched this forum and seen advice on reinstalling Bridge and Photoshop. I recently reinstalled Photoshop 15.5 (and uninstalled Photoshop 2017 because I don't have the time right now to reinstalll all of my plugins from scratch.) Do I need to reinstall it again???
4. Or, should I uninstall Bridge 2017 and reinstall Bridge 15.5? Is that even possible, and would it make a difference?
I use Bridge a lot, like it better than Lightroom, and I'm now bogged down by this issue. Why oh why does Adobe change things that are working perfectly???? I haven't seen anything written up about this particular change in reviews that cover the new Adobe Bridge. What on earth is Process Collections in Photoshop intended to do anyway?
If anyone can help me resolve this issue, I would be most grateful. Many thanks in advance!
Scarlett

Hi Sahil
Thanks for your answer but it's not what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor which allows me to do various other things than the ones you posted.
I had to uninstall Adobe Bridge 2017 and reinstall Adobe Bridge 2015 to regain access to these options.
In Adobe Bridge 2015, Tools > Photoshop provides access to many other options as well (including the ones you mentioned):
Batch
Contact Sheet
Image Processor
Lens Correction
Load Files into Photoshop Layers
Merge to HDR Pro
Photomerge
Process Collections in Photoshop.
In Adobe Bridge 2017, only the last item is available, and I have no idea what that means or does.
Why has Adobe removed all of the other items which are so ingrained our workflows? I can't update to 2017 until these options are reinstated. I hope Adobe will do so in its next Bridge iteration.
Thanks,
Scarlett

Just had the exact same experience and so have the exact same questions? The answer / article was not helpful - not sure why it's marked as correct.
How can I undo this automatic stacking? It was not what I intended to do - I wanted to batch resize my images - a feature which seems to be missing from Bridge 2017???
Why was I not presented with a dialog box when I clicked 'Process Collections in Photoshop' ?? It doesn't even explain what it is doing and there was no process bar or cancel button.
Can anyone answer?
Thanks,
Ciara

Ciara, I just came across the same issue and started playing around. If you highlight all the photos that were accidentally put into a collection then go to "Stacks" --> "Ungroup from Stack" the images will now be separated.
I hope this helps.

Dear Users,
We have released a new version of Adobe Bridge and Adobe Photoshop (version CC 2018) with multiple new features and improvements.
Request you to upgrade to the latest versions for both these products.
Photoshop Tools in Adobe Bridge are available when both Bridge and Photoshop have same version installed on the machine.
Please let me know if it helps.
Regards,
Abhishek Seth.

Thanks Nikki! I played around and also figured it out - not terribly logical from a UX pov!

Thank you!! Gosh.. there are a lot of people accidentally doing this and wanting to bail out.. and then left confused as to what just happened. I also had exactly the same experience. Adobe needs to make it a little more foolproof!
