Rename a keyword and apply to existing images that have been tagged

Dear all,

I am attempting to rename several primary keywords in Bridge such that the renamed keyword is applied to existing tagged images. My keywords are heirarchical therefore I have a primary 'title' keyword such as species with individual species names subset under.

To do this I select all images in the relevant folder, and then right click on the keyword which needs renaming on the 'Rename' option, type the correction, and then press return.

Adobe Bridge creates a new renamed keyword, however the tags associated with secondary keywords in the heirarchy are not carried over to the renamed primary keyword.

There are many hours of work associated with tagging these images, therefore I really can't go back through all of them to re-tag them under the revised name.

Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

Create the new keyword, use Find to locate all files with the old keyword, apply the new and remove the old.

You can't do it with the method you are using.
