Slow Placing into InDesign From Bridge

Guide ,
May 01, 2018 May 01, 2018

Not sure if this is a Bridge question or an InDesign question, but here goes.

I'm using Bridge 8.0.1.282 and InDesign 13.1 on a fairly new iMac with OS 10.13.4. If I select 3 (1-2.5MB jpeg) of around 350 images in a folder from bridge and go to File>Place>InDesign, it takes around 12 seconds before the screen switches from seeing Bridge to when I can see InDesign and the place cursor is ready. When I used earlier versions of Bridge and ID, it took 1 or 2 seconds. I'm working over a network now, but it's the same network as before when it was fast.

Does anyone who places from Bridge to InDesign on a regular basis have this kind of speed? What might I check to get better performance. I updated my InDesign preferences recently (for an unrelated issue), and that had no effect on this.

Any thoughts?

Did you try going into Bridge preferences and deleting the cache file and restarting?
