Transferring photos from eos camera to bridgey

hi

can anyone help me please. I have a Canon EOS camera that has no usb cable with it. So I bought a scadisc card reader to transfer photos in to Bridge. When I transfer the photos they are recognised by bridge and they transfer ok, but there is no option as before when using a usb cable with my Olympus camera to tag photos, apply further info or batch name them. There’s just nothing, they just download and then that’s it. There’s no opportunity to rename files or anything else that I used to be able to do with my old camera and a usb cable.

Am I missing something here, or is this the way it is when using a card reader to transfer photos from an eos camera to my Bridge app on a iMac?

Bridge has all of those features built in. And just get a mini-USB cable for your camera if you'd rather do it that way.

when you open the download tool in Bridge, look in the lower left corner. Does it say "Advance Dialog" or "Standard Dialog"? Click on the Advanced Dialog if it is there to get it to open up more of the options available when downloading images.
