Hello, when I want to copy or move a picture from one folder to another, the following message apperas: "an error has occurred during the move operation. Some files may not have been processed". I check all the photos to make sure they are properly saved, but nothing does it. Can anyone help with this issue please? Thank you!

Hi,
Thank you for the feedback.
Could you let us know about the complete bridge version as seen in the About box so we can better understand this issue?
Also, make sure that the folders have the necessary permission to read and write as well.
Regards,
Bridge Team

same problem here, running Adobe Bridge 14.0.1.137 on a Mac MBP M2, 32GB. If I am dealing with only 1 picture, the picture is moved allright even if I get the message. Moving several pictures at once fails. This happens only when I am moving pictures from a NAS folder to the other, no problem moving locally. If I move files in the Finder I have no issues.

I'm just having the same issue.
And to make it worse all the files I was moving to the folder when I got this message have vanished.
They don't show up in Bridge. And worst of all they don't show in Finder.
Initially I tried to search for them in Bridge and they appeared - located in the folder I was attempting to move them to. But when you click on that folder to view the contents no images appear. And what's worse is when you view that folder in Finder it shows as empty. I've tried to search for these files in Finder but nothing shows.
Restarting my Mac makes no difference.
This a very serious issue. I no longer have any faith using Adobe bridge to organise my library.

Hi, @LazyLlamaphotos; where were the files located? Were they on your Desktop? An external Drive? Where?

Hi Gary,
They were on an external drive!

I have been having no issues with using Bridge in combination with this drive. It was moving files fine for hours today and then all of a sudden it decided not to play ball and I started receiving the same error message the OP received

Hi, @LazyLlamaphotos, Thanks for all the fill-in information.
I can think of three things for you to try. At this point, I do not know if one or a combination of these will work, but hopefully, one or more will work.
#1: Purge the Cache for that folder.
#2: Rebuild Bridge's Preferences
Quit Bridge (if running).
Just before restarting Bridge in the Dock or double-clicking the application for the Mac, press Command-Option-Shift. (For PCs, press Control-Alt-Shift.)
Then open Bridge, BUT KEEP your fingers on those keys until you see a window pop up. From the window, choose “Reset Preferences," "Entire Thumbnail Cache,” and/or "Reset Standard Workspaces.” In your case, choose "Reset Preferences."
#3: Reset Preferences for external devices. [Note: if you've already done this for external drives, sometimes this needs to be repeated when you've done an update, either by your system or an update of Bridge. The catch here is not always, but sometimes. I've been using Macs since they first came out and the REAL rule of computers should be "if something doesn't work the first time, try again." This completely goes against Einstein's famous quote: "The definition of insanity is to repeat the same thing expecting a different result." Obviously, he never worked with computers. Anyhow, here are the complete instructions:
Go into the System Preferences and select the Privacy & Security tab on the left. Note that there are two options on the right you'll need to deal with: "Files and Folders," and "Full Disk Access."
First, going into Files and Folders, note that in various years of different releases of Adobe Bridge, different needs are needed. I do not know why this is, but it's always better to check and make sure that just because you did it for one release, you may or may not need it for a subsequent release.
Lastly, go into the Full Disk Access option. If you do not see your application in the list, click on the "+" symbol at the very bottom of the window. This will bring up a standard Finder window. Navigate to your Applications Folder, find Adobe Bridge, and add it to the list (You will need to add your Administrator's password to do this.). Then you can "switch" it to the "ON" position.
Please let me know if any of these worked.

Thanks Gary!
I'll give these a suggestions a go. Fingers crossed!

Unfortunately, none of these suggestions have worked.
It's very stange. I've been using Aperture, Lightroom and Bridge for years now and I've never had files go missing like this - simply by moving them from one folder to another.
Would you recommend only doing such tasks with files located on you Mac hard drive or is the their location irrelevant? I'm wary about this being repeated moving forward....

I'm sorry to hear that none of those worked. I will trust that you've done proper searches on your Mac as well as within the folders they should have been. Do you have the name of any ONE of the files to search with? What happens when you click on the "Reveal Recent" icon in the Toolbar (the icon that looks like a clock)?
As far as Bridge is concerned, there's NOTHING that Bridge can do to make files disappear. Bridge is a "file viewer" with some extra tools. Adobe Camera Raw is a plugin that is shared with Photoshop. The various features, such as Batch Name Changes and Image Processor, are scripts. Even when you delete files, the deleted files are in your computer's trash.
Now, all that being said, I am not saying that your files have not disappeared. My earlier suggestions fall into the category of "best guesses." I do regret that those guesses were not good enough. But, was the disappearance of these files a coincidence or causational with Bridge? That is, could typing an email during the loss of these files or playing games any more or less likely to have caused these files to disappear?
Hmm, I just thought of something else for you to try:
In Safe Mode, the Mac will do a number of internal checks and stuff to repair any issues that might have happened. It has worked for me (one out of two times) on issues that I was having.
Let me also add the one issue that comes up often: Do you back up your files? Ignoring this specific issue, hard drives do crash and fail. Over the years, I've had three hard drives crash. The number of files I've lost for the last two drives was zero. I use Apple's Time Machine to back up my computer, and I keep all of my files and important documents on one 4 TB drive. I have a 2nd 4TB drive that I back the first to. I also use a Cloud Service that backs up everything. If I were to have files that I'm working on suddenly fail or disappear, the worst that would have happened is that I would lose some time recreating what I had done with the files — but I would not have lost the files. I do not work on an image unless I've already got a backup of it somewhere.
Good luck!

Thanks for all your help Gary!
I've searched my Mac and external drive pretty thoroughly. Some of the images did show up briefly when I searched using the file names/keywords in Bridge - but like I said they weren't then actually visible in the folders either in Bridge or Finder. And now they're not showing in search results in Bridge at all. And when I manually click through individual folders in Finder I don't see any trace of the images. I checked the trash right away and they're not in there.
I was pretty focused on moving the files between folders in Bridge. Sure I had Mail and Safari open in the background but I certainly wasn't engaging with them. I did have two Bridge windows open simultaneously on different displays but one was merely being used to view images whilst I was working on the other.
And yes I'm pretty thorough when it comes to backing up my images. I have so many exernal drives that I've accumulated over the years it's actually ridiculous. So I have back ups of back ups of back ups. I use Lacie drives and have never had one fail - even my old Firewire 400 drives from Circa 2003 are still going strong (not that I still use these obviously - I actually need to wipe and recycle them). I did venture to some Pegasus RAID system when thunderbolt was launched and those drives were constantly failing - so I stick with Lacie now.
So luckily I do have a backups of the images, but of course all my work metadata and keywording over the last few days since my last backup is probably lost. But more worrying for me is if this issue is going to continue when using Bridge. I almost had a blind faith in Bridge before this and now I'm very hesitant to move files between folders - I will need to resolve this issue and locate those missing files before my confidence is restored. And in the interim I will need to adjust my workflow significantly which is a pain.
Clicking on the Reveal Recent icon doesn't show the missing files unfortunately. I wish I'd thought of that when it first occured - I've obviously shut Bridge down and restarted my Mac numerous times since then.
Let me try the Safe Mode.....

Incidentally - one of the batch of files that went missing that is somehow still visible has had it's filename changed.
The filename is now in this format:
Original File Name/Volumes/Drive Name/Primary Folder/Sub Folder/Sub Folder/Sub Folder/Original File Name

Hi there,
1. I'm using Bridge 2024 - Version 14.0.1.137
2. I was dragging and dropping files into the newly created folders.
3. I'm not sure I can provide the Bridge logs at this stage.... I'll see if I can dig them up.
4. I had updated to Sonoma and then Bridge 2024 - but whether or not this issue was coincidental to these updates I can't say. I have not experienced this issue previously with previous OS or Bridge versions.
5. I was moving files into subfolders on the same external drive when the issue occured
6. The issue happened a few times on that particular day - as foolishly I kept trying to move different groups of images into subfolders as I was only getting the error message occasionally and I didn't immediately realising the images were 'vanishing'. But I have not reproduced the issue since then....

HI,
I'd like to add to LazyLlamaphoto's points that I had this problem also before updating to Sonoma. Otherwise I had the problem already with former versions of Bridge (since Summer 2023 approximately), not only with drag and drop but also with cut and paste, while moving files from one folder to thd other on an external disk. Luckily, I immediately realised that my files were "vanishing"...
Hope this helps

Hi @LazyLlamaphotos ,
Thank you for your response.
As per your feedback, we tried to reproduce this issue at our end, but we were unable to reproduce it.
However, we will keep a watch for this and keep it in our engineering pipeline for any updates.
