Batch rename change RAW NEF files properties

Hi to all

I've an issue when I change the name of my photos.

I've a directory, inside there are the jpg + NEF + xml files (this xml files content the properties and characteristics I work in Adobe Camera RAW when I open the NEFs and change exposition, bridge, blacks, saturation and transformation upright). His names are the name of the photos in the camera (_DSCxxxx.xxx) and I want to change his names. ok

I select all the fotos in Bridge (jpg and NEFs files) and select in the menu "Batch rename". ok.

After, I put the name I want, put a sequence number and select ok.

When Bridge start to change the name of the files, the RAW and his thumbs start to change the appearance while Bridge start generate the thumbs.

I see the Upright, when I select Auto "A" when I change the name, change the perspective and inclination. Now, the name is the same in the files (jpg+NEF+xml) but the jpg and the NEF is different, because the crop, upright, inclination are different...

Is this an issue and a BUG of Bridge?

I can't solve this, and reopen all the NEFs and change another one the inclination, crop, upright... to do the same like jpg's files.

Can you help me?

pafer, I believe that I understand what you are saying…

When you batch rename, the raw files and the JPEG versions “look different”, the XMP sidecar data is not being applied equally to both files.

What version of Photoshop/ACR and Bridge?

How was the JPEG generated?

A) Did you apply the same Adobe Camera Raw settings to BOTH the raw and JPEG image (synchronised settings)?

B) Did you apply the Adobe Camera Raw settings to ONLY the Raw image – then created a JPEG from the processed raw file (not synchronised)?

This is the order I apply to the batch process:

1- All NEF are in a folder, only the NEF files.

2- I open the NEF and change the exposure, brightness, photo cut, lens correction, transform - auto perspective, scale, rotate ...

3- I save a jpg and keep in the same folder with the changes made on the NEF. I do this with all the NEF, one by one. Now, all the jpg and his NEF file it's the same photo.

4- Select all files in the folder and choose > Batch rename

5- Bridge changes all the file names, and change the names fine. (meanwhile, Bridge generate thumbs another one, because the name of the files is different in the cache)

6 - But when I see the jpg and his own NEF (these files should be the same in appearance) Many NEF are different of his own jpg file.

I suspect that the NEF that lead to transform / auto perspective, it is reapplied in the process of renaming, Name of the xml file, and now the perspective and cut of the photo is different to his jpg was generated by his NEF file.

It's seems that Bridge has a BUG in this process > Batch Rename, and when it changes the name of the files, jpg, xml file and NEF, in some step it changes the file NEF.

I suspect that he must change first the name of the NEF, and instants later, to the xml file, meanwhile in that instant of time, the NEF hasn't an xml file equal in name, and instants later, he changes the xml file and Bridge recognizes both another time, in this time, now reapply "transform / auto perspective" to his NEF file and changes the photo and he is no longer the same, its different, because auto perspective, often doesn't apply correctly or in the same properties now...

For example, in a photo of the sea, the horizon line change, and rotate different and in the wrong way...

Edit and say sorry!, my Bridge version is Bridge CC 2017, the last and upgrade in time now. Photoshop CC 2017 and camera raw v 9.9.0.718 all in my Mac Pro OS 10.11.8, El Capitan

Do you have the expected behaviour with the following steps:

1) Open raw file (no ACR edits) and save as JPEG

2) Open raw and JPEG and apply edits, synchronising the same edits to both raw and JPEG

3) Batch Rename All Files (both raw and JPEG)
