Question

Bridge / Camera Raw crashes on third file opened

Updated to the latest version of Bridge for management and I use Adobe Camera Raw for editing purposes. Every third file opened causes ACR to crash with the only solution being a restart. Is there an easy fix for this?

Running Windows 10

Thanks.

Does it happen if you open the images in Photoshop-hosted Camera Raw (double-click)?

And for further information, what kind of raw files, from which camera?

Also, is it Bridge's Camera Raw (Ctrl+R) or Photoshop's (Double-click)?

Yes, and please post the exact point version of Bridge, ACR, Photoshop (unless you use the Bridge-embedded ACR, and Win 10 version

go to control panel/administrative tools/ event viewer/ windows logs/application

find the app crash report and select it and then select"copy as text" and post it here.

I really hate these generic windows crash reports.

This has been a repeatable issue using windows 10 for the last six months. No version really seems to be immune.

Some reports indicate its a hyperthread system driver issue. some say its a elevated security issue with windows registry.

Can you R-Click the icon, select the app and R-click the app and select "run as administrator"?

Another thing you can try is open a command prompt with administrator elevated rights and run SFC/SCANNOW from the command prompt and make sure your windows 10 install does not have any driver issues.

You could also run an application like CCleaner to check for any .dll errors that maybe causing conflicts with the windows register.

make sure you have the latest video driver installed.

and if all else fails , un-install Bridge and reboot, and then reinstall Bridge.

Wish I could be more informative.
