Question

Just a simple album

Is Bridge right for me given that I just want to create a few albums with minor captioning and simple edits of photos, and have a slideshow on my TV.

I'm overwhelmed by this complex file "organizing" app.. Much more in organization options than I need. It's masking a simple thing I wish to do.

How can I make some simple albums of our old trips???

Thanks

Craig

Bridge isn't really designed to make "albums." You might look at Lightroom CC, or maybe pass on Adobe altogether and use a simpler consumer-grade application.

Hi Default,

Well it doesn't get much easier than Bridge. However, the price you pay for that easiness is less capability. However, I think there's enough for you to work with.

First off, understand that Bridge is in its most basic structure, a viewer of files. It was originally made to help photographers view their files to either find a file and/or which files could be tossed right out and which one they should spend time on. As such, you do not "import" anything in Bridge, rather you just go to a folder that has the images you wish to look at and, well, look at them. Bridge has NO file enhancement capabilities on its own. Rather, from Bridge you can easily open JPG, TIF, or raw images into Adobe Camera Raw or Photoshop for any enhancement and/or alteration.

While the website I'm about to send you to is not up-to-date, the contents are sufficiently relevant to warrant your time. I wrote these a number of years ago and have not updated them, but again, the contents are mostly viable. You must be logged into your Adobe account to access them BUT for unknown reasons they still remain unavailable to some people. The person I need to see what the issue is is currently away. If you cannot access these, let me know and I'll work out an alternative.

So let me know if you have any issues accessing these and/or if you have any questions after you view them.
