Unable to install Bridge v9.0 - the installation cannot continue as the installer file may be damaged fix

Hello...

I currently have Adobe Bridge v8.0 installed on a Windows 8.1 PC, and this is connected to an AD infrastructure that is NOT internet connected.

In order to upgrade to v9.0, I obtained an 'offline' installation from this location: Download Creative Cloud apps

After clicking the setup exe, I received the following message: "the installation cannot continue as the installer file may be damaged"

As recommended by the message, I attempted a fresh download of the Windows x64 version and tried it on different PC that was running Windows 10, however I get the same error message.

Initially I used 7-Zip, then I tried WinRAR, which made no difference to the extracted files. I also disabled AV to check if that was getting in the way, but still no joy.

I'm rather out of ideas, perhaps someone out there can shed some light on this issue.

Cheers,

Steve

    Correct answer Jeff Arola

My internet facing machines only use Centos, with Firefox as the standard browser. However I've also tried Chrome.

Is the win 10 machine connected to the internet or able to?

I ask since new to Bridge 9 is the need to connect to the internet to activate Bridge, so even if you installed Bridge 9 you wouldn't be able to use it without an internet connection. Sorry i forgot to say something earlier.

    Re: Is Bridge still free?

If you are working in a restricted work environment, then a Creative Cloud for Enterprise membership will allow you to use Photoshop CC on an offline computer.

i don't think Bridge version 9 will work on windows 8.1.

You need either windows 7 or windows 10 (newer than 1607)

    Adobe Bridge system requirements

You can find your windows 10 version by pressing Win key+R and then entering winver

My Windows 10 installation is version 1809.

You are correct about 8.1, when I checked for compatibility it only listed Windows 7 and 10.

However, as I'm running v1809, this isn't the problem.

The 64 bit installer works on this win 10 v1903 install.

Try a different browser like Firefox to download Bridge.
