ACR 13.2.0.738

Mac OS 11.2.3

To replicate:

1) Open 5 images in ACR

2) Select the crop tool (c) and crop an image

3) Select edit (e)

4) Select zoom, fit in view.

5) Check global zoom settings

6) Select next image

7) Select previous image

8) Reselect next image

9) Select previous image

10) Note how zoom setting changes from "fit" to whatever the zoom setting is for the cropped image.

This is a bug. ACR 13.1 did not do this. ACR 13.1 "retained" the "fit in view" setting regardless if an image was cropped or not when selected and the view setting was "fit in view" and "global zoom settings" was checked.

I am not able to replicate using your instructions.

Can you post a video showing the issue?

I'd love to, but I reverted to 13.1 to solve this and another issue, and now I can't seem to find a way to "update" ACR to get 13.2. Creative cloud says everything is up to date, and this page doesn't have a link to "force" 13.2.

Soooo, any ideas on how I can force an update to the latest version? Creative cloud thinks I have ACR 13.2 installed, even though I have 13.1 installed.

@Rikk Until I can find a way to "force" an update back to 13.2, I'm stuck with 13.1. Do you have a link to a dmg file for 13.2?

Also, back to the issue at hand: try repeating step 8 and 9 a few more times. It should start messing up.

You need to uninstall/reinstall Photoshop to force an update from ACR 13.1 to 13.2  as ACR is part of the Photoshop package.

@Rikk FYI: I had to uninstall/reinstall both Photoshop and Bridge to force ACR to update.

Here's the video. Watch on YouTube.

Watch the zoom setting at 0:34. See how it changes from Fit In View to the setting of the cropped image? Then going back and forth, the view is all messed up! ACR forgets that "fit in view" was supposed to be the global setting.

Ugh. 13.1 doesn't behave this way. In 13.1, if the view selected is "fit in view" and the "global zoom setting" is checked, then "fit in view" stays at the zoom setting regardless of the image selected.

If this is "designed behavior," it's "poorly designed behavior." 🙂
