Hi,
since one of the latest updates a few weeks ago the adjustment brush in camera raw is laggy to a point where it is actually unusable. When I add brushing somewhere with wacom it can take easily up to 30 seconds until the brushing finishes after I already lifted the pencil. In fact, this behaviour does not occur when I use the mouse. So it has something to do with the wacom intuos pro, either wacom itself or how the new PS handles the wacom. I'm on a MBP by the way.
Anybody else noticed this issue?

Hi there,
We're sorry about the trouble with Camera Raw as the Adjustment Brush is laggy. Would you mind sharing the exact version of Camera Raw and the operating system you're on? Make sure the Wacom Driver is updated.
Try to reset of the Camera Raw preferences: Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw. Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences. You may also check this article for more info: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/using/camera-raw-settings.html
Let us know if that helps.
Regards,
Tarun

Thnx for the (delayed) reply. I updated the Wacom driver and it seems to have solved the issue.

Hello, unfortunately the issue still persists.
I uninstalled and reainstalled all drivers/applications related to wacom. The brush tool in ACR is practically unusable due to the huge lag. For example, when I add a radial gradient and want to add/substract, the strokes can last even minutes to appear. I am using the intuos pro s and m, both show the same behavior. It's defintely not a hardware issue as the brush tool works just perfectly outside ACR in PS. I'm working on a 2019 MBP under latest MacOS, everything else updated on the latest versions.
I'm happy to receive any help with this as it severly diminishes the workflow.

So if the Wacom isn't connected or used, if you work in ACR without, is there still a lag?
Any difference if you try this in Lightroom Classic?
Any difference if you disable GPU in the preferences?

Hi, sorry for the late reply, somehow I didn't see the notification.
No lag in LRC for brush tool in radial filter (adding or removing).
Disabling GPU in PS has no effect on the lag, it's still there then and the brush tool is really unusable in PS CR. The brush tool in PS (so not in PS CR) works fine.

The Wacom is always connected. So using the brush tool in PS (not in PS CR) with Wacom works perfectly fine, same in LRC. The brush tool in PS CR for radial filter, to add or to remove areas, presents a huge lag with Wacom. As I mentioned earlier, to a point whre you can use it anymore because the lag can be 30 seconds depending on the amount of strokes.

I have the same issue ! Thought it was my computer that was too slow/old. but recently bought a new Mac Studio M1Max with 32 GB ram ,with all the latest software and drivers. In Lightroom everything works as expected, but when I use the Camera Raw filter in Photoshop , using the adjustment brush the lag is incredible and hence unusable.

I'm sorry you experience the same issue. Though I'm also a bit happy that finally there is some confirmation about what I experience. Hopefully this gives a little more weight to it now. My MBP is from 2019 16" with high specs, it's not undersized for sure!

I have exactly the same problem. Helpdesk keeps asking the same questions:
(Restart please. what is your PS version? What is you tablet driver version? Does restarting help?) x gazillion.
Worthless.
Retouching portraits is a hell now.

You haven't mentioned what OS you're using. If Windows, then try disabling Windows Ink as there are issues on some systems when it's enabled. You should also ensure that you're using the most recent stable version of the Wacom driver.

I am also experiencing a lot of cursor-lag when using the Camera Raw (both as Filter and regular mode) in Photoshop with my Wacom Cintiq 16. This is the only app on the computer that has any sort of lag with the Cintiq. It's not just when I use brushes in RAW, though, it's just RAW in general.
Contiq 16 on desktop Mac with Monterey 12.6.3, Camera Raw 15.2.0.1381, Photoshop 24.2.0 Release. CPU i7700K, Radeon RX 6600 XT, 64 GB RAM.
