Converted to BW in ACR, yet still look color everywehre else

I converted 30 color images in ACR to BW and they look terrific BW in Bridge and they look terrific BW in PS, but on Desktop on Mac still color and when I upload to Blog still color. Really annoying.

You have to render the metadata instructions into actual edits to the pixel data. All of this and more is explained in this old video from Adobe’s Russell Brown:

Once you understand how metadata based “edits” are different to direct pixel based edits this all makes sense.

Anyway, Bit weird as the BW sit next to colors in Bridge and the colors are done, ready to use, so I'll have to run  IP, then replace in folder with colors... more degradation no?

I one take one link that works and is specific over 4 that are broad and I have no idea where to look, so I'm out of luck there, #2 does not work.

But I did using IP, image processor so all done.  OK

You have Camera Raw specific metadata instructions in your rendered files. Only Bridge/ACR/Photoshop/Lightroom understand what these instructions actually mean. In order to have other software understand the result of these instructions, the metadata instructions have to be rendered into edits to the pixels. By using Image Processor, you have applied these rendering instructions to the actual image pixels.

Sorry did not understand that. In Bridge, I chose tools, photoshop, imageprocessor, and it worked good.

Edits in ACR are not performed directly on the image pixels. The “edits” are stored in the file as metadata. The latent metadata instructions require rendering to actual pixel edits. One way to do this is using the Save Image button in ACR:

Another way to “develop” these editing instructions is by opening the image into Photoshop and saving – this is exactly what you did by using the Image Processor script.

When you apply “edits” in ACR to a JPEG or TIFF image, the “edits” are not applied directly to the actual pixels as would happen in Photoshop. The “edits” are stored in the file as metadata. You can see this via File > File Info:

This is why the OS or other programs do not understand that you have created a grayscale version of the image and show it in colour.
