Hi,
I have win 10 + PS CS6.
PS ACR makes XMP files.
Those files have no icon.
I suppose (know) that opening these file is not the right way....
But ... is there a way to get (or adjust) a meaningfull icon for those files?

Not quite sure what it is you are trying to accomplish. Bridge doesn't display the XMP files. Where you want to see the icon, and what do you want to do with them?

Hi JimHess,
Thanks for your response.
First of all ... I do not use Bridge (often). I use PS CS for RAW "convert" to PS-PSD or jpg, png etc.
RAW files have a PS-related icon, PSD files also have a PS-related icon.
But XMP files, produced by PS-ACR!!, do not have an icon..... only some standard icon.
So I thought it would be a logical way of thinking, that there is a PS-related-icon for XMP.
And ... what I do with XMP files is: >> nothing, only keep together with RAW files

I'm using Windows 10, and here is what the NEF/XMP icon combination looks like in File Explorer:
I recall at one time my Windows OS icon for the XMP file was a similar icon, except it had a big "XMP" across it. But I can't seem to find any way to modify icons anymore. But I'm not that familiar with a lot of those types of features in Windows 10.

Hi JimHess,
OK...earlyer I found a way to change icons in WIN 10...... see image:
But there is no XMP (text) in list.
I don't know how to "add" a XMP icon.
I leave it here, thanks so much.

Hello,
I've got the same problem. My XMP icons are blank in Windows Explorer.
Has anyone solved this problem?

XMP files are just plain text and no Adobe doesn't have an icon for them.
