I'm finding that it wants to "replace" rather than "remove". Swapping a pole for another type of pole for instance.

Hi, I am using AI generative Remove for about two weeks now and I must say sometimes it works fantastic.
But sometimes it is impossible to control. I am mainly using the tool to remove items that disturb in my picture. My main interest is to remove artifacts that disturb me and let the AI generate the perfect background that fits in the original surrounding, like the "Entfernen" Tool in photoshop 2024 which I do use often after the raw or dng process
Unfortunately the AI Remove tool for Lightroom classic is to much into creating new things to substitute the removed stuff.
For example if Idid remove a lamp it is creating new different style lamps instead of filling perfectly the hole.
As I work in a documentary style photography this is mainly not what I need and it would be great to find a solution for people, that just want to let disappear little disturbing artifacts and nobody would recognize it after.
Why do you not try, beside that main topic of generating new things, to work just on a tool that 100% helps for to let disappear disturbing stuff and you cant see that it was there.

Still not perfect, but ...
I've had better luck getting clean and usable (sometimes amazingly good) removals if I plan the removal and execute it ►before I do anything else◄ to the image.

Overall surprisingly impressed.
It is so close to being excellent for the removal of small annoyances. If it were a little more intuitive (could give it a couple preprogrammed prompts, i.e. remove flyaway hairs; does not need to be as limitless as photoshop), it would save even more trips into Photoshop, thus saving time and money for our business. It's almost there, just noticing a few discrepancies here and there.

Ich will 2 Menschen entfernen.

Well mostly successful but then changed a person to a black dog instead of rocks and sand, then changed a man with a camera to a woman with a camers??

With a little patience and following the guidelines carefully, this works brilliantly.
I'm sure it'll get better still over time.
Meanwhile massive congrats on a fantastically useful feature !

Even after doing the steps described above the AI Generative tool continues to error out.

Generally speaking the a.i gen remove tool in Lightroom is pretty good. My general workflow is from Lightroom classic synced to Lightroom Ipad. For the most part, a smart preview sync is all i need.
The problem now being able to do gen a.i removal on the ipad means that im only working only a lower res version of my photo, so that when said photo is synced back to lightroom classic, the photo itself is (in this case 61MP) but the generative a.i bit is very low res.
Can we have a button or a function where it will automatically detect this and re-gen all "a.i removals" within Lightroom Classic ?
Right now I can do this, but i need to manually go into each edit and press 'refresh'
Thank you!

Hi
I don't understand !!!!! I want to remove an object in CR with AI. But I just want the background in place, just the BACKGROUND !!! But AI replaces this object by 3 possible others object. Why ?????
Thanks for feedback and have a nice day

I blurred the backround around a horse's head and upper neck and got some artifacts, which looked like hair standing up along the horse's neck, ears, and upper neck- along the edge. I used the remove tool to remove them. Geoff

I find it confusing that an AI Fill command in the Remove panel would default to replacement when certain objects are selected. Try removing a wine glass lingering in the background of a shot and you will be treated to a global tour of replacement table settings. Super cool, but a bit frustrating if you are looking to do something much simpler. I would really like to see a checkbox or toggle switch to choose Remove vs. Replace. Remove would tell the AI to draw heavily on the surrounding part of the photo to fill an area, and "Replace" would be a flag to get creative. It answers the question: “What do you want to do here?”

¿Does using the Object Aware option, or not, make a difference?

I've noticed a couple of glitches using Generative AI. I've noticed in some cases, that the outline of the selction appears on the modified image. I've also noticed that some of the generated area is both unsharp, and doesn't match the original image's noise pattern.

am loving generative remove but sometimes I wish AI could peg on abit better that sometimes I really literally want an item to be REMOVED and not replaced with an alternative item. An example would be me trying to remove the corner of a painting on a white wall and instead of having it replaced with the background of a white wall, I am given various choices of alternative paintings to replace said corner of painting ha!

I really like the access through the camera RAW, and I have a suggestion. could you include the option to NOT generate people in the generation? When you want to delete people it is very frustrating.

1. Starting in Bridge, sending to ACR, using Eraser tool
2. using Generative AI, brush size 3
3. straight line drawn by Shift+click
Powerlines, specially across canapes of forest and bushes result in a blurry error.
4. Can't upload the NEF from the D850 (47 Megapixel). That 47 MB limit is quite a bad idea if you want customers to upload todays raw files from cameras having > 45 megapixel images. Error message see attachment. Who the heck makes such idiot decisions at Adobe? Fire that person.

Yes, I have seen the blurry effect often generated when removing power lines and similar.
Personally I have found the Heal tool better at this. Usually it generates perfect results and of course it does not deplete your Generative Credits of which I receive only 250 per month!
