For a complete overview of camera support in Photoshop and Lightroom, visit the following article:

Why doesn't my version of Photoshop or Lightroom support my camera?

  1. Make sure your version of Photoshop or Lightroom is updated for the latest camera support.
  2. If you own an older version of Photoshop or Lightroom, Adobe provides backward compatibility for the latest cameras through the FREE Adobe DNG Converter.

Note: ETAs for specific cameras are not available

It is a paid software but it is the only one that converts SONY A7RV a DNG today

What flavor of DNG; linear, lossless?? Not all DNG's are the same (or as 'raw').

From the website:

"Iridient S-Transformer is a cross platform, macOS and Windows, Sony ARW/ARQ to DNG conversion utility that shares much of its high quality RAW processing pipeline with Iridient Developer. Key processing stages that can be applied during the DNG conversion include RAW interpolation (demosaic), pixel shift processing, sharpening, noise reduction and automatic lens corrections. S-Transformer provides some of the high quality, early stage RAW processing algorithms from Iridient Developer in simple, easy to use utility that can be combined with existing photo workflow programs like Lightroom to quickly improve RAW image quality."

This implies that it is demosaiced so probably linear.

Dear Adobe-Team,

when can we expect the update that we can import the RAW files of the new Sony A7RV in Lightroom Classic?

Best regards,

Ralf

"when can we expect the update that we can import the RAW files of the new Sony A7RV in Lightroom Classic?"

According to dpreview.com, the A7R V will be released sometime in December.

Support for a new camera from a leading manufacturer typically comes in the LR release following the release of the camera or, less frequently, the second following release.  A new version of LR comes out about every 8 weeks, so we might expect to see LR 12.1 mid-December. (I have no inside information on this, and Adobe never announces such things ahead of time.)

Meanwhile, you can use Sony's software to convert raws to TIFFs and import those into LR.

The Sony FX30 isn't currently supported by LR / ACR:

It was announced in September and released in late October. LR 12.0 was released on October 18.

When will RAW files from the A7R5 be recognised by LR and other adobe programs like the DNG converter?

Those who know would be under NDA and therefore not permitted to say.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography  can this be merged with others at https://community.adobe.com/t5/camera-raw-discussions/p-raw-file-support-requests-and-information-new-camera-support/td-p/12354770

Bonjour,

Il m'est impossible de lire les Fichiers RAW  (*.*ARW) du nouvel appareil photo Sony alpha 7R V.

Savais vous si une nouvelle mise à jour de lightroom prendra en charges ces fichiers ?

I see, I thought they would at least communicate somewhere the date it will support...

Yesterday I bought a Sony AR7 V camera. Today I used it for the first time. I used the sd card I previously used in my older Sony camera.

Unfortunately, when I transfer the raw files onto my computer Bridge doesn't recognize them and I don't get any previews. I also cannot open them in Camera Raw. All I see is a blank oblong with Ps in it (the photoshop icon). When I try to transfer the files into Bridge using a cable I get the message "no valid file".

All my adobe programme's are up-to-date.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Any idea when an update will come for the Sony A7RV to import RAW files? Paying for Lightroom at the moment and can't use it because the camera is new is frustrating.

Your Camera model was announced Oct 26, 2022. The latest update to LrC was released Oct 18, 2022 so it's no surprise that it does not provide support for your Camera model.

Normal time frame for release of updates for new Camera models is 2 to 3 months so you will just need to wait a least a few more weeks. Adobe does not provide timeline for specific camera models.

Regards, Denis: iMac 27” mid-2015, macOS 11.7.10 Big Sur; 2TB SSD, 24 GB Ram, GPU 2 GB; LrC 12.5,; Lr 6.5, PS 24.7,; ACR 15.5,; (also Laptop Win 11, ver 24H2, LrC 15.0.1, PS 27.0; ) Camera Oly OM-D E-M1.

I think it's pathetic that Adobe is not on this. Other software already supports the A7R V, what's the delay Adobe? Your software is unusable right now. Get on it!

They did the same with the a7iv last year. Adobe does not learn from its mistakes. Shame
