Suggestion - for working with masking and local adjustments

I just update ACR this morning to the latest releasse V15.1.1.1329...

I love, love, love the masking options and local adjustments that have evolved over the recent months and years and I find I can do a lot more in ACR and have to do less in PS.

BUT, with each new releasse of ACR it seems to me that the masking runs a bit slower (possibly a subjective opinion). I know my hardware is dated, and I have in my plans to build a new PC soon. Currently running an i7-6800 with 32GB and a NIVIDIA Quadro M2000 GPU.

Here is my suggestion: While masking a local adjustment, especially compositing together different masks (i.e. paint in and out bits of a Select Sky mask) I would like to be able to temporarily turn off the adjustments but leave the mask visable. As it is now if I do a Slect Sky and make some adjustments and then decide I have to panit in, or paint out bits of the mask I believe that in addition to computing the changes to the mask, that adjustments need to be computed at the same time. I would be happy to finsh painting the mask and then turn the adjustments back on to see the result. I don't need to see the adjusstments happening in real time. If I turn off the ajustments now I loose the visibility of the mask.

I know I could merely delete the adjustments and then work on the mask, but it might be nice to have the option to turn off the adjustements and leave the masl visble.

OK, that helps a lot. I'll have to play with it some more, but I think pulling the amount down to zero lets me do more masking (brushing) without the extra overhead of painting in/out the adjustments while I am masking.  (I still need to refresh my hardware)

Thanks,
Peter

Maybe an example wuold show what I mean...

Painting in and out on this mask gets increasingly slower and slower. I assume that the on th efly adjustments are adding to the slowness.

It looks like sliding the Mask Amount Slider to 0 with the Show Overlay checked will accomplish this.
