after updating photoshop , when i opened it for the first time there was option to use camera raw as it is (vertical film) or to change it to new UI (with new look and horizontal filmstrip ), i just clicked new UI to see how it looks , i thought if i dont like it i will just go back to using older UI but there is no option to select older UI , i contacted adobe but person who was helping me just suggested that i should install older version of camera raw or ask for help from this forum , i found it bit frustrating that if there was simple option to choose new UI so why not give option to revert back to older UI with newly updated software. maybe its bug or adobe forcing people to use new UI even if they dont like it

Thank you for continuing to provide valuable feedback on the recent UI changes in Adobe Camera Raw 12.3. For some customers these changes have disrupted existing workflows, particularly for in-process projects. To mitigate these issues we have offered a roll back to version 12.2.1 so that you can continue your current projects under the old UI.

Adobe updated the Camera Raw user interface for several reasons. The new design supports commonly-requested features, such as a horizontal filmstrip, a

Well I suppose photography isn't very important OR Fred doesn't know there are many other options for processing raw files. Whatever....

Sad but true. Fortunately I can live without photography as an option.
Not sad at all considering photography meant that little to you.

The other options out there are 10 times worse than Adobes modern UI in ACR 12.3. I am certain I can live without photography.

Look if you are happy with an interface that functions like you are shopping online at Walmart or Target and Best Buy then you are tinkled pink with the new ACR UI.

You're confusing me even more.. if the other options are 10 times worse, then why are you complaining about something that's 10 times better? And again, if editing your pics are that paramount, then photography wasn't for you in the first place as it seems like the carriage is carrying the horse.

There are so many stupid designs in the new ACR 12.3.0.

It missed the "auto" button on exposue panel.

I could not find the buttons to HDR and Merge in ACR also. Are we only bale to HDR and merge in PS?

It appears that our Andrew loves to use quotations to justify his rather nasty demeanor against fellow forum members.
It's a pity there is no block or ignore feature so we don't have to read comments that provide zero value to any such topic.

Perhaps, Andrew you can lobby all the camera makers? You could be useful then.

I have used the new Photoshop and Camera Raw for the first time in anger today at a football match. I was really looking forward to using the version but, it's actually not as user friendly as I was hoping. I much prefer the old version.

Now, it has crashed and I cannot get it working. I urgently need to remove it and install an older version.

How can I remove Ps and ACR and install the previous version?

Thanks for your help

Jon: MUCH has already been written on this forum about this topic. I suggest doing a search on the top of the Photoshop Family page, try various ways to phrase it; you will get answers quickly that way.

You need also to reverse back Bridge. In the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app, click on the three dots in the Bridge box > Other versions > and download 10.0.4.

Here is a link to an excellent two hour long class on the changes made in 21.2 / other parts of Adobe's June update. It is by Ben Wilmore, who is an excellent instructor. I think that review of this material might be helpful for understanding the changes wrought in that Update, many of which have apparently caused considerable anguish!

I totally agree, now you waste plenty of time for very simple operations. Besides, it runs way less smooth and it even freezes from time to time when cropping. I truly don't understand why to change completely and downgrade apps which were working great.
