libgit2 error

Hello,

I just downloaded the starter package and I try to use the software but when I click on a puppet I get the libgit2 error.

I searched in the communities and none of the proposed solutions work for me.

I admit that this is not the best first-time impression I would expect in the first trial.

Any help?

Steps to reproduce:
    1. click a puppet and get the error...

Is your copy of CH installed on a local drive? That error frequently occurs when the program is try to access content on an external drive (a screen grab of the error will help us figure out for sure).

Yes it does.

And the interesting thing is that the free starter version I installed said V23.1.

I had a chat conversation with support which gave me a link to download and re-install.

I did that and then I was required to pick a 7 days trial and give my credit card information. The person I chat with said that in order forit to work I must use this version.

I accepted and entered my credit card and then I got V4.0 installed and everything works fine. But I have 7 days to decide if I wish to buy or not. I am unable to use the free starter version since it does not work.

I asked why do you give the free option to download and install and got no reply.

Frankly, it looks quite weired.

You shouldn't have to give the credit card information to use the starter version. Whomever you spoke with was misinformed. This page covers the normal steps: Animate a puppet using Starter mode (adobe.com) I'm afraid I don't have the technical expertise to troubleshoot your problem. I'm hoping someone with the right skills can help you out.
