Background moving with walking Character Animator.

I just did a walk behavior and the background is moving off screen with my puppet. I've tried what I thought would fix it but am lost at this point. The puppet is in it's own folder and so is the background.

Hard to say without any visuals.

 

When you say it's own folder - do you mean file or folder? Your background should be an independant file, not in a folder nested inside your puppet. Also - are you trying to make the puppet walk on the spot and have the background scroll. Or do you want a fixed background with the puppet walking through. There are several approaches to achieving these different outcomes.
