Question

Can I make my puppet's arm move (trigger) automatically when I talk?

Hello,

I'm new to character animator. I drew my own puppet with mouth movements and arm movements so my character can raise his arm and talk. I was able to figure out the swap set to make it talk using the how to videos. My question is, is there a way to make his arm trigger (switch to a different pose) automatically via audio or when it recognizes sound? I don't want to us the keyboard for this trigger. I tried the cycle layers, layer picker (using the audio input option) and leader/follower behaviors but couldn't get any of them to work. Am I missing something? Is this possible because I've seen a puppet on a youtube channel with this feature. Please let me know if this is even possible. Note: Also I do not have a camera hooked up at this time. Thanks much

I've not encountered any effect that does exactly that, though Layer Picker can play layers based on audio input. However, you can tie audio to certain triggers so that when you trigger an animation, it plays a sound as well. This video shows how to do that: Triggerable Audio (Adobe Character Animator Tutorial) - YouTube
