Question

Character Animator So Slow I cant even use it

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone may know whats going on here. While in character Animator, not recording or animating yet, Ch uses over 150% of my CPU and over 130% of its energy, according to my activity monitor. (Not even sure if this corellates). In any case, I'm not able to do a single thing, even simply click on something, without the loading color wheel of death appearing every single time. Its gotten to the point where I simply cant even work, but I don't believe what I'm doing is very complex. I have a single puppet, and with or without the scene I've created in the background, the program acts the same.

Hardware Overview:

  Model Name: MacBook Pro

  Model Identifier: MacBookPro15,1

Processor Name: 8-Core Intel Core i9

  Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz

  Number of Processors: 1

  Total Number of Cores: 8

L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

  L3 Cache: 16 MB

  Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled

  Memory: 32 GB

Boot ROM Version: 1037.147.4.0.0 (iBridge: 17.16.16610.0.0,0)

   Hardware UUID: F30700ED-47BC-5962-834E-12317A919248

  Activation Lock Status: Enabled

Thank you so mjuch in advance for any tips!

Are you seeing the same behavior with the built in puppets, or a specific puppet?

Same behavior even without a puppet loaded. Strangely slow in general.

I love how you had better specs than they expected so they didnt respond. I'm getting 10 to 20 fps on a similar rig and only using 25% cpu and 15% memory. My puppet is complex, but not that complex.
