How To Do Dangling Animal Ears

Hi there,

I really apperciate the communities help here.

I am trying to understand how to do dangling ears like the below character. (Bunny Dude) I understand how to put "Dangle" handles down on my own design, but can't seem to figure out how the below character's dangle handle on the bottom of the ear is connected to the nose. How did it get that dotted line, how was it connected? I have some experience with the stick tool, but this looks like it is using something else?

Thanks so much!

Any tutorials on this would be helpful as well.

Also - I tried to label the ears as arms in one of my designs to control the ears with my arms instead of the animal is that possible?

Thanks,

Diana

There needs to be some overlap betwwen the dangling part and where it connects to the rest of the puppet. Could I see the rigging hierarchy for the two "arms" so I can see how they are attached to the body?

Dangle can be a bit tricky to understand - for instance, the part with the dangle feature needs to be independent from the other parts in its group. Here's a link to a video with some explanation about using dangle. The video is about 5 years old, so I do not know if the examples are still available for download. https://youtu.be/T-7uTIfXW8E?t=245

Thanks TheOriginalGC. I think I got it.

The fox's right ear dangles now. But, I can' seem to get the same effect with his left ear? It detattches from his head as shown below.

Any idea as to what might be going on here? I can't get the left ear to recieve a green highlighted circle like the right.

Thanks!
