I have an assignment to create animated videos from a transcript provided by a customer.
The transcript includes lots acronyms.
I have tried various approaches to making the lip synch work for the acronyms (periods after each letter, periods + spaces after each letter, trying to spell out letter sounds like "A" = "aye," "B" = "bee," etc.).
I keep getting the error message; "Compute Lip Synch failed: Check that the transcript matches the audio."
Any suggestions on how I can get past this error?
Thank you.
I was about to suggest that. I recently had a project with a lot of acronyms and I threw caution to the winds and synced it from the audio without the transcript. It's not perfect, but no one's noticed anything.

After some testing, some acronyms actually lend themselves to the lip sync function.
I have quadruple-checked the transcript, and it matches the audio 100%.
I have no idea why it doesn't like this one audio file.
Plan B: I just used Timeline > Compute Lip Sync Take from Scene Audio. It worked okay.

I occasionally get the lip sync problem with some transcripts. I'd love to know if there's something in a certain transcript that leans to problematic so I can avoid it.

FWIW, most of the lip sync errors I encountered boiled down to recording errors. The speaker would unintentionally transpose the order of words, drop words, add "and," or replace words (such as say "respectively" instead of "respectfully"). The person speaking for the audio recording must follow the transcript PERFECTLY, or it will cause issues.
For acronyms, sometimes the lip sync process rendered them correctly, but sometimes it did not. When that happened, I would type phonetic spellings for the letters. For example, for BGA, I would type "bee gee ay."
