A beginner's question...

I used one of the templates of the character generator in Character Animator, and changed it so that a new character was created for me. At first everything worked fine, but suddenly I can't control the joints in my character's left hand. I attached the pins to the arm, but still his arm doesn't flex. However in the right hand it still works.

I'm still trying to figure out what happened. Did you say this puppet was created in the puppet maker and it worked before it didn't?

Yes. I created the character named Chibi in Puppet Maker, at first it worked, but after a while it didn't anymore. Now it doesn't work for me even when I try to create a new character in this model.

You're right - right out of the box, I can't get the arm to bend. Adding anything won't help. Let me try the beta version and see if it's been addressed.

The issue appears to have been fixed in the latest beta release. To download it, open the Creative Cloud Desktop and under the "Categories" on the left side, select "Beta Apps." You'll find the Character Animator (Beta) app and can install it from there.
