Use Stream Deck as MIDI controller for CA

I would like to use a Elgato Stream Deck as a MIDI device to control Character Animator when the program is out of focus. Stream Deck has a plug-in called "MIDI" that emulates a midi keyboard. However when I press the Stream Deck's key the Character Animator does not detect it. Has anyone else got this to work?

you still need the midipad unfortunately...use midipad in CH and set the trigger to say "key 64" then you install midi software on the streamdeck which you have install already and link the button to "key 64..the set the toggle or latch option.
