Character Animator not opening

Hi,

I just installed Adobe Character Animator 2021 and it won't open.
Nothing happens, I don't even see the splash screen.
Sometimes I get an error and a log file is created on the desktop (such as "Character Animator_2021-03-25_100421.crash").
Here are a few lines from this file :

     Crashed thread: 33 [18672] THREAD_PRIORITY_NORMAL

     Exception Code: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Exception Parameters: User-Mode data execution prevention (DEP) violation at location 0x0000000000000000
     Exception Message: 3221225477 L'instruction à 0x%p emploie l'adresse mémoire 0x%p. L'état de la mémoire ne peut pas être %s.

I tried rebooting and reinstalling several times but nothing changed.

Any idea ? 😞

Thank you

You would have to go to thread 33 of the crash log (or whatever thread is shown the next time you see the crash reporter) and post that information for anyone to be able to interpret what caused the crash.

You can also try trashing your preferences by deleting the corresponding version number folder (probably "4.0") in ~Library/Application Support/Adobe/Character Animator

Hi David,

Thank you for the quick reply !
I tried trashing your preferences but it did not work.
I then contacted support, who sent me the CH v3 installation file.
Then I was able to update and everything is working fine.

And I am currently working on animating my puppet 😉

Awesome! That's great to hear that Support was able to get you up and running so quickly.
