Hello.

I'm a complete newbie in Adobe Character Animator and I've been just following some video guides and now when I have my first personal puppet done (I downloaded the ''blank'' puppet and edited it in Illustrator), I can't import it into the Adobe Character Animator.

I saved the puppet from Illustrator as .ai , but when I import this file into Character Animator, I don't see the actual puppet on my screen, nothing really happens... I'm confused and I don't know what to do.

When you import an AI file a puppet should be created in the project panel. It should have a little person icon next to it. If you double click on it, it should open the puppet in "rig" mode (see top mode bar with home/rig/record/stream). Rig mode is where you do extra rigging for the puppet. Puppet configuration.

You then need to put the puppet into a scene. The quick way is the single click on the puppet in the project panel then click on the scene button at the bottom of the project panel. This will create a new scene and add the puppet to it for you. Double clicking on the scene will take you to "record" mode where the timeline panel is visible.

A puppet can be in many scenes. A scene may contain many puppets.

There are lots of videos from adobe, but hopefully that will get you started.
